Bret Michaels announces 2010 Tour.
Bret Michaels back on Tour in two weeks. Poison’s frontman Bret Michaels, who has recently suffered a brain hemorrhage and is still recovering, is planning to go back on tour by the end of the month despite the doctors recommendations to take it easy. The “Roses & Thorns” tour was interrupted when Bret underwent a emergency appendectomy on April 12.

bret michaels 2010 tourBret is allegedly doing physical therapy twice a day to speed up his recovery, which is basically not giving his body time to adjust. “He’s still in rehab,” says the source. “His doctor told him to do physical therapy once a day, but he’s doing it twice a day, because he wants a speedy, 100 percent recovery. Bret sounds good. He’s still on meds and he sounds tired.”

Bret’s miraculous comeback will happen during the band’s performance at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi on May 28. Maybe he is going too fast, but we are cheering for Bret. As the doctors said, he is very lucky to be alive. Bret is a fighter!

According to TMZ, the band has been planning for Bret’s comeback with an emergency strategy in case something doesn’t go as well as expected. The tour bus drivers will be given a list of every hospital from the different locations so they are prepared and can respond quickly to any medical emergency. source

Bret Michaels Resumes Tour
bret michaels tourBret Michaels is wasting no time getting his solo tour back on track. After undergoing an emergency appendectomy and suffering a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage last month the singer is gearing up to make his return to the stage May 28.

The Poison frontman and reality star made the announcement in a post on his Facebook page, declaring that the May 28 show at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi in Mississippi, would mark his official comeback.

On April 12 Michaels was forced to undergo an emergency appendectomy. Just 10 days later, while at home recovering from the operation, he suffered a brain hemorrhage he explained “sounded like a handgun, like it literally popped, according to People magazine. "It made my mind go almost blank. My neck tensed up. I couldn’t move my head at all.”

Doctors diagnosed the singer with a subarachnoid hemorrhage, which the Associated Press explains “causes bleeding in the fluid-filled spaces around the base of the brain.”

Michaels spent 10 days in the ICU and then entered a rehabilitation facility for physical therapy.

According to his Facebook post, the singer is preparing to meet the rigorous demands of his touring schedule by increasing his rehabilitation sessions to twice a day.

After playing Biloxi, Miss., Michaels has a number of U.S. solo dates lined up followed by a tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd that kicks off June 10 at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Additional solo dates are booked through October. Shows that were postponed because of Michaels’ medical emergencies are currently being rescheduled.

The Facebook post also noted that Michaels, who is one of the last stars left standing on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” hopes to make it to the reality show’s May 23 finale in New York.

Last week Michaels appeared on the cover of People magazine with a story that featured his first interview since suffering the brain hemorrhage. To check out his first televised appearance since his hospital stay, check out “The Oprah Winfrey Show“ May 19.
The singer’s sixth full-length solo album, Custom Built, is set for release June 8. source article

Bret Michaels, stronger than ever and back on tour
After two medical emergencies landed him in the hospital this spring, rock musician Bret Michaels has confirmed that he will resume touring with a May 28 concert at Hard Rock Live in Biloxi, MS.

bret michaels toursHis itinerary features nearly 50 concert dates in all and is currently booked through an October 1 event at Sea World in San Antonio, TX. Michaels will also play 17 shows on Lynyrd Skynyrd's summer tour, from June 10 at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, FL, through July 11 at First Niagara Pavilion in Burgettstown, PA.

Michaels' ability to complete these live commitments was cast in doubt when he was hospitalized after suffering a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage on April 22. But a statement on his official Facebook page noted that the rocker "has been rehabbing since his release from ICU, [and] has increased his rehabilitation sessions to twice a day to prepare for his comeback" later this month.

The brain hemorrhage was the second medical setback for Michaels, who had been released from the hospital after having an emergency appendectomy just 10 days before the hemorrhage occurred.

His team is currently working to reschedule any dates that were postponed as a result of either hospitalization. The former Poison frontman also has plans to tour through the end of the year, according to the statement.

In addition to his recent medical problems, Michaels was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in his early childhood. He has been a longtime activist for the American Diabetes Association, and is playing to benefit the ADA as a finalist on the current season of "Celebrity Apprentice." source

Bret Michaels Biography (Short bio on the Bret Michaels)
Born: March 15, 1963 in Butler, PA
Genre: ROCK

bret michaels biographyWith his glammed-up good looks and commercial songwriting skills, Bret Michaels became one of rock & roll's most recognizable frontmen during the 1980s. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Bret Michael Sychak migrated west in 1984, trading the blue-collar ambience of his native Pennsylvania for the seedy gloss of Los Angeles. Along with his three bandmates in Poison -- guitarist C.C. DeVille, bassist Bobby Dall, and drummer Rikki Rockett -- Michaels became an integral part of the popular hair metal scene, mixing feel-good party anthems and sensitive ballads into some of the decade's top-selling singles. Poison's popularity took a hit in the '90s, however, when the advent of grunge music (not to mention the group's unstable lineup) resulted in sluggish sales. Poison continued to record sporadically, but Bret Michaels also took time to focus on other projects, eventually launching a film company with actor Charlie Sheen. He also made his solo debut in 1998 with Letter from Death Row, the soundtrack to a movie that Michaels wrote, directed, and co-produced with Sheen. Poison reconvened the following year, and Michaels balanced his continued frontman duties with his growing singer/songwriter career, releasing the solo efforts Songs of Life and Freedom of Sound during the first half of the 2000s. He also participated in the 2005 season of Nashville Star, and later returned to reality TV with his own dating competition series, Rock of Love with Bret Michaels. The show ran for two seasons and was followed by 2008's Rock My World compilation, which also featured several new tracks. Andrew Leahey, All Music Guide .... read more Bret Michaels biography
